Ever since we have been hit by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of upskilling has become even more important and relevant in our lives. We have seen how difficult it is to survive in this world due to the fierce competition among the masses to achieve success at an early age.
Recently, our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has highlighted the importance of Upskilling Youth and reskilling them during his speech.

According to a statement made by PM Modi, there are more than 900 skills that are essential to both personal and professional lives.

We have already mentioned in the introduction regarding our Prime Minister speaking about the importance and benefits of upskilling youth and its emphasis on our lives and the people around us.
So, what does upskilling mean? What are the benefits of upskilling?
In simple words, Upskilling means learning new and additional skills which will help you acquire relevant competencies required to stay updated with the industry demands.
It is essential to keep learning and growing in life as there is no age for learning something new.
There might have been times when we see something, and we want to try it or learn it. But we often stop ourselves from trying something new due to the fear of what others will think? How will we conquer the challenges? As a result, we often get scared and back off.

It is important to follow your heart and keep learning new things.
In a democratic country like India, the Youth are the trendsetters. More than half of the population in our country is youth. The World Youth Skills Day is celebrated every year on 12th August.
Therefore, the Government lays so much importance on the development of the youth, from Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao to Skill India Mission; the Government of India has been making consistent efforts to Upskill the youth.
However, youth employment in India is a significant obstacle, which we can overcome only if we work hand in hand with the government.
The only solution to this problem is by giving skills to the youth which will train them and help them stand out from the crowd and help them compete in the huge market.
Wondering how many youths have received skill-based training?
According to a report, only 2% of India’s total workforce has received skill training.

It may sound a little difficult to us, but it is impossible to keep trying until we achieve the goal.
