What is Augmented and Virtual Reality?

The major difference between Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality is that in Virtual Reality, the world in which the users immerse themselves is through a specific headset, whereas, in Augmented Reality, images or scenes are an integral part of the real world which gives a better experience of the real world. 

Virtual Reality is entirely artificial, everything the user sees is constructed virtually and there is absolutely no integration of the real world. But in Augmented Reality users see everything in the real environment. 

Apart from these two standard realities, a third variation also exists which is known as Mixed reality.

Mixed Reality is an integration of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality which uses a hybrid technology that enables seeing virtual objects in the real world, building distinguishable experiences possible.
